Sea World down, San Diego Zoo to go!

Sea World and Shamu were a big hit with the boys. Heck, with me, too! His size is simply amazing. Look how big he is compared to the trainer who is in the water with him! He jumped out of that water like he weighed nothing when in actuality he is close to 4 tons. Awe-inspiring to say the least.

Of course the boys just had to sit in one of the rows where we would get splashed. When that whale used his tail to splash water, it hit the first 16-17 rows and yes, we got wet. If you look at the bottom left of the above picture, you can see there are some blue tarps that people purchased to keep dry. But not us. The boys wanted to get wet and wet we got.

After the show we went to the tank to get a close-up of Shamu. He kept coming back around to the window and the boys were just sure he was coming specifically to see them. Now Owen said he wants to be a doctor, truck driver and a whale trainer.
Tomorrow we’re off to San Diego Zoo. Tentatively anyway. The kids are so tired that they’re not sure they want to spend a whole day doing lots of walking. We’ll see. Right now, they’re in bed watching a movie and with any luck will be asleep very soon. Here’s hoping!
